Pioneer GEX-P920XM XM Satellite Tuner

  1. I was really tired of XM cheese I did not – he truncated at the mouth and had three son (antenna, power, and noise to the unit head). It was time to change.

My Pioneer DEH-P980BT is Satellite Radio ready and this device is compatible. So I ordered and installed. It was so easy to install as a unit of cheese and has the added advantage of being hidden and integrated into the display on my Pioneer.

What I did not expect was to improve the sound quality. Even direct cable connection via the AUX input on my stereo, XM cheese had some of its limitations. Modulation FM (wired or wireless), it was horrible. The GEX-P920XM put it all behind you!

Now I have XM as another audio source to your stereo main displays all information through the main unit, I’m 18 preset, you can search by category or station, and there is nothing blocking my air vent!

Get this – you will not regret it. Even if you already have something connected to your IP-BUS port on your Pioneer stereo, you can add this – the chain as a network, so that is not confined to one unit! I use it with the CD-IB100II iPod adapter and it is happiness!

  2. JJ says:

Installed and attached myself to my new Pioneer AVH-P3100DVD. After installation, I thought I had a hard drive does not appear as a source of the main unit. Finally, I deduced from earth ground wire. If it was connected inside the box located under the deck. The trunk is made of metal, but apparently not all on the field? Connected to a mounting screw my shock, and voila!
The antenna head is small, the picture does not do justice. Just above my thumb! Still trying to determine an appropriate position for mounting. Concerned’ve checked every time I go to a carwash. Oh, well, there are concerns more important in my life than that. :-)
Search the web for a promotional code. Found an awesome: XMSCION03.
$ 77/yr (XM plan everything) + waived activation fee ($ 14. 99). Unable to apply online, as only gave me the charge movement of activation. Had to call. But it worked. And it is not necessary to own Scion. Sweet.

  3. Dog Lover says:

After much difficulty with 2 other radio stations online resources, we finally found the right equipment for our new car. We just wanted to enjoy XM Radio on our car stereo XM ‘ready’. We opted for the Pioneer after market, such as XM Ford factory setting is not really XM Ready Ready. Attention to other stakeholders: do your research, car manufacturers are not as imminent. Thank you Amazon. com!

  4. This product is fairly simple: it is easy to install and works very well. I am satisfied with the sound quality and reception. Performs the antenna on the roof is easy, and there is not enough wire antenna included to get there.

However, I can not get over the size of that thing really is. For something with four connections, I was expecting smaller. Considering that the handheld devices, such as XpressRC XMP3 and have all the same features in a much smaller, and are equipped with screens, this tuner seems enormous.

Includes the mounting hardware is not much to talk about it, I see it is used only if you intend to mount the device under the seat directly on the vehicle floor. This seems to be the way the Pioneer assumes you will install, as the length of cable IP-Bus includes a layman (I do not measure, but it must be longer than the antenna cable and ten times thicker ). If mounting this product anywhere near the dashboard, you will have any excess wires to hide. I put mine in the glove box and called it a day.

Overall, this product is great. Just waiting to spend some “time trying to understand where to put it in your vehicle.

  5. I chose Sirius XM tuner tuner anymore because I got a bargain XM annual subscription (thank you to the Amazon. Com Reviewer), as I have admired over the XM is Sirius, but I opted Pak for All The Best Of XM Sirius so I can get Howard Stern, NFL Radio, and Playboy, all the main tracks.

The GEX-P920XM tuner works very well with my Avic F700BT Head Units. Its substance plug and play, just dirt, place the antenna and connect the IP-Bus cable to the back of your Pioneer HU. All channels available and clear, and I have my antenna hidden in the rear deck behind the grill subwoofer in my Lexus (thats people inside the car) with zero reception problems. The tuner is hidden in the pit under the passenger seat. The sound is on par with CD quality and integrates well with all my car audio set up. I could not be happier, thank you to Pioneer and thank you to Amazon. com for the incredible price!

If you are looking for satellite radio in the car, I recommend a Pioneer HU and this tuner. Its a clean and tidy with separate tuners boring that Sirius XM billboard outside your crowd.
